Breanna Stewart is an American professional basketball player who was born on August 27, 1994, in Syracuse, New York. She attended the University of Connecticut where she played college basketball and won four national championships. Stewart was drafted first overall by the Seattle Storm in the 2016 WNBA draft and has since won three WNBA championships, three WNBA Finals MVP awards, and two regular-season MVP awards. She has also won gold medals with the United States women's basketball team at the 2016 and 2021 Olympics. Off the court, Stewart is an activist for gender equality and has spoken out about her experiences with sexual abuse.
